What server rates mean
A server rate is a multiplier on retail RF Online. A server advertising x10 EXP gives ten times the experience retail would for the same kill or quest. Each rate is set separately, so a server can have fast levelling but normal drops.
| Rate | What it multiplies |
|---|---|
| EXP | Character experience from monsters and quests: how fast you level |
| Drop | Item drop chance from monsters: loot, materials and gear |
| Animus | Experience for your animus (summoned spirit) |
| Mining | Ore gathered while mining |
Other rates servers advertise
Many servers also list rates for PT (skill and force mastery) and other systems. These are less standardised, so check the server's own website or Discord for the full rate sheet.
Some servers sell a premium status that raises rates further. A listing's rates on RF Servers are the base, non-premium rates.
Low, mid and high rate servers
RF Online toplists group servers by EXP rate. RF Servers uses these tiers in its server filters:
Low rate (x1 – x5) keeps progression close to retail. Mid rate (x6 – x150) is the most common. High rate (x151 – x999) reaches cap in days, and super high rate (x1000+) is built for instant PvP.
How to compare servers by rates
Do not choose on EXP alone. A x1000 EXP server with x1 drops can still be a long gear grind, and a mid-rate server with boosted drops can feel faster overall.
Use the RF Online server list to sort by EXP rate, then compare drop, animus and mining on each listing. Then check live Discord activity to see where people are actually playing.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a good rate for a first RF Online server?
- Mid rate (roughly x10 to x50 EXP) is the most common choice: it cuts the grind but keeps progression and the economy meaningful.
